On my Ghost Koi Scriptorium Pens Idyll prototype (IM) joined its comrades when it was filled with Akkerman #13 Simplisties Violet. The pen was in use for one month and was emptied and cleaned on , saying good-bye to its fellows.

Thoughts Before Filling

I still love this pen and have been wanting it back in my hand, and I have been wanting to use a decidedly purple ink. I happened to have picked up a sample of Akkerman’s Simplisties Violet and thought I’d give it a try. I’m excited to see how I like this one. I’m not sure one could say purple is a Christmas color, and I’m currently in the mood for festive colors. However, in my mind there are some purples that are royal, imperial, and festive indeed. Maybe this will be one of them.

Thoughts After Cleaning the Pen

This is a good purple, but it’s nothing special and thus, for me, not worth the premium price that comes with Akkerman. It paired well with the pen and I enjoyed using it, but I doubt I will end up with a bottle of it.
