Wherein my Dixie #10 Methuselah's Pine Cone Noodler's Konrad Ebonite (IB) is paired with Diamine Magical Forest.
On my Dixie #10 Methuselah's Pine Cone Noodler's Konrad Ebonite (IB) joined its comrades when it was filled with Diamine Magical Forest. The pen was in use for 3 weeks and was emptied and cleaned on , saying good-bye to its fellows.
It is December and the Christmas Season is in full swing in my house. To that end I want my pens and ink to reflect the same sentiments, so I figured now is a great time to try out Diamine’s Shimmertastic inks especially since they have a green one. And what better pen to put an ink named Magical Forest in than Methuselah’s Pine Cone!
This poor pen was transported from a warm house into the freezing outdoors multiple times. At some point ink leaked into the cap and began to make a mess of my fingers, so it was time to clean it and re-evaluate. The nib I put in this pen doesn’t quite fit inside the cap (it’s a tight squeeze) so I may cut a new italic nib and try again.
As for the ink, it was as festive as I had hoped it would be. The silver sparkles excellently complimented the green ink. I’m not fond of the color green, but this shade was nice, so much so that I may wind up with a bottle of it in the future. Before that I will need to ponder when I’d want to use a shimmering ink. It’s not an all-purpose ink, but I suspect many of my fountain pen pen-pals won’t mind if I use it for one of their letters.
