Vibrant Blue Sea

On my Blue Pelikan M805 (0.5mm CI) joined its comrades when it was filled with Rohrer & Klingner Blu Mare. I refilled it 2 times; the last refill was on . The pen was in use for 10 months and was emptied and cleaned on , saying good-bye to its fellows.

Thoughts Before Filling

I’ve been waiting a long time for this day. This pen was released last year but it wasn’t until Christmas that I was able to call one mine. Since then I’ve been waiting to get the broad nib it came with ground down to a 0.55mm italic. The nib has just now returned from its visit to the Nib Grinder and I quickly filled it up to give it a try. I’m partial to this bright and cheerful turquoise ink and I’ve used it before so I figured it would be a good ink to use for this pen’s maiden voyage.

Thoughts After Cleaning the Pen

I discovered that the nib on this pen is just a bit too broad to use in my Hobonichi Techo, so this ended up being a pen I used for long-form journal/diary entries and for fiction. I managed to write it dry while in the middle of a short story, which prompted a refill, and I nearly emptied it again on the same story. Alas, the story finished before the pen did, and it sat on my pen stand where I admired it, but forgot to use it. I have no doubt I will return to this combination in the future as I really enjoyed it, but for now it’s time for it to rest so that other pens may shine.
