Vanishing Gall

Wherein my Blue Matte Pilot Vanishing Point (0.5mm CI) is paired with Rohrer & Klingner Salix.

On my Blue Matte Pilot Vanishing Point (0.5mm CI) joined its comrades when it was filled with Rohrer & Klingner Salix. The pen was in use for 5 days and was emptied and cleaned on , saying good-bye to its fellows.

Thoughts Before Filling

Having had a disappointing experience with Pilot Blue Black I decided to try a drier ink, so I’m going with Salix. Hopefully this will correct the issue otherwise the nib is not what I want and I’ll have to send it back.

Thoughts After Cleaning the Pen

In just a few short days I wrote this pen dry. Some of that was the amount of writing I did; I used it as much as possible so I could determine how much I liked the nib grind. It turns out, I like it. The pen also has the CON-40 converter, which does not hold much ink, and considering I used an iron gall ink, a short supply and a quick rotation is not a bad thing at all. I am not refilling the pen because I really want to try out another iron gall ink I have and have not yet used.
