On January 18, 2016 my Black Kaweco Classic Sport (Medium) joined its comrades when it was filled with Kaweco Summer Purple. The pen was in use for 5 months and was emptied and cleaned on June 30, 2016, saying good-bye to its fellows.

Thoughts Before Filling

I’ve had this pen in my drawer for the better part of a month and have been wanting to use it. Now that the Christmas themed rotation has been retired it’s time. Originally I was going to use one of the Royal Blue cartridges that came with the pen, but I have my heart set on some other blues in the current rotation and as I had no purples planned Kaweco Summer Purple seemed like a good choice.

Thoughts After Cleaning the Pen

I quite like the ink, it’s a dusky sort of purple which appealed to me. As for the pen, I like the size and general fit in the hand, but the nib skipped quite a bit. I had always intended on grinding it down to an italic, so when I do that I expect the skipping will cease. I probably will revisit this combination in the future.
