On February 14, 2024 my Red Hongdian D5 (Extra Fine) joined its comrades when it was filled with Diamine Red Dragon. The pen was in use for 2 months and was emptied and cleaned on May 1, 2024, saying good-bye to its fellows.

Thoughts Before Filling

My wife bought me a new pen for Valentine’s Day and I figured a Chinese themed ink would be a good idea, and I haven’t used Red Dragon in a really long time.

Thoughts After Cleaning the Pen

I had a lot of fun using this pen, more than I expected. The nib is wonderfully smooth and produces as sufficiently thin line. The ink is as good as I remember it being. Unfortunately, it was competing with other inks I had in rotation at the time, so I will set this aside for now and put this pen back in rotation when I can give it more attention.
