On my Black Italix Parson's Essential (0.65mm CI) joined its comrades when it was filled with Noodler's Whaleman's Sepia (Manjiro Nakahama). The pen was in use for 3 weeks and was emptied and cleaned on , saying good-bye to its fellows.

Thoughts Before Filling

I have a sentimental attachment to sepia inks. This one is rather special in that it’s permanent and water-resistant. I like sending out handwritten Thanksgiving cards, and this year I decided I’d like to use a sepia color. Considering I would be sending cards to folks that may not be as fountain pen savvy as I am, I wanted to choose an ink that would withstand accidents.

Thoughts After Cleaning the Pen

This combination served its purpose and it’s time to put it away. As I already knew, this ink is particular with which pens it enjoys working with; I had to prime the feed at the start of each writing session. That alone makes this a special occasion combination, but I’m okay with that. I may try to dilute the ink the future to see if that can resolve the feed priming need. We’ll see.
