On March 16, 2018 my TWSBI Micarta (0.5mm CI) joined its comrades when it was filled with J. Herbin Lie de Thé. The pen was in use for one month and was emptied and cleaned on May 5, 2018, saying good-bye to its fellows.

Thoughts Before Filling

I love tea so naturally I love the idea of an ink evoking the beverage. The last time I used this ink I put it in a 1mm crisp italic and then abused the italic letterforms. I recall being greatly disappointed with the letter I wrote, though looking back I don’t know how much of that disappointment was with my handwriting versus the ink color. This time around I’m using one of my favorite pens, so if I still end up disappointed it’ll probably be the ink.

Thoughts After Cleaning the Pen

Sadly, I found the ink tool be too wet for this pen. Most of the time I ended up with blobby letters rather than the crisp ones I’m used to producing.
