On December 28, 2024 my Rainbow Asvine V200 (Extra Fine) joined its comrades when it was filled with Rohrer & Klingner Magenta. The pen was in use for 7 months and was emptied and cleaned on August 15, 2025, saying good-bye to its fellows.

Thoughts Before Filling

My wife gave me this pen as a Christmas gift. I’m taking a chance on a magenta ink, though I fear it is too similar to the Ottoman Rose that is in my Sailor Pro Gear Slim and the two pens will compete, and I dearly love the nib on my Sailor.

Thoughts After Cleaning the Pen

This pen did in fact compete, but I gave it a fair run. The nib is nice and smooth and sufficiently fine. The balance is acceptable. Overall I liked the pen, but if I’m honest the Sailor Pro Gear Slim would win every time.
