On July 15, 2026 my Gunmetal Monteverde Impressa (Extra Fine) joined its comrades when it was filled with Diamine Red Dragon. The pen was in use for about 3 months and was emptied and cleaned on October 11, 2026, saying good-bye to its fellows.

Thoughts Before Filling

My wife surprised me with this pen for our 24th wedding anniversary. I knew right away I wanted to put Diamine Red Dragon in it and give it a spin.

Thoughts After Cleaning the Pen

I’m somewhat conflicted on retiring this pen and ink combination. I still love both, but I still have issue with the ink drying and gumming up in the nib faster than I am using it, so for now I will set it aside and I may come back to this one, as I liked both the pen and the ink.
