Wherein my Makrolon Lamy 2000 (0.6mm CI) is paired with Sailor Jentle Doyou.
On my Makrolon Lamy 2000 (0.6mm CI) joined its comrades when it was filled with Sailor Jentle Doyou. The pen was in use for about 7 months and was emptied and cleaned on , saying good-bye to its fellows.
I’ve wanted to return to my Lamy 2000, and I’ve been curious about Sailor’s Doyou ink. I really enjoy this pen with Roher & Klingner’s Sepia, so I’m curious to see how I feel about this ink.
I don’t know what happened here. I thought I would enjoy this combination but in the end I found I was avoiding using it. The nib is a broader italic than I have become accustomed to, and I feel that the ink was wet; the end result was that everything I wrote with it was either too large for my tastes or too much of a blob: I fought with this pen more than I enjoyed using it. The ink itself didn’t stand out enough to warrant a bottle. I still really enjoy the idea of the Lamy 2000, but I may need to use a smaller italic grind to really enjoy one.
