On December 14, 2014 my Ivory Darkness Noodler's Ahab (IF) joined its comrades when it was filled with De Atramentis Charles Dickens. The pen was in use for about 4 weeks and was emptied and cleaned on January 11, 2015, saying good-bye to its fellows.

Thoughts Before Filling

I sampled this ink with an italic dip nib and found it to be a rather enjoyable grey ink. As such I wanted to try it in a fountain pen to confirm. Plus, it is the Christmas season and who can resist an ink named for the author of A Christmas Carol?

Thoughts After Cleaning the Pen

The ink is a nice dark grey, which evokes a sense of silver. I found the color fitting of the name, and were it a bit more distinctive I’d be tempted to buy an entire bottle. As I have a little bit of my sample left I shall try it in another pen at a future date.
