On January 20, 2016 my Night Blue Mica Pilot Namiki Stella 90S (Fine) joined its comrades when it was filled with Pilot Iroshizuku Shin-kai. The pen was in use for 3 months and was emptied and cleaned on April 22, 2016, saying good-bye to its fellows.

Thoughts Before Filling

This pen and ink arrived today from Engeika. I’ve been waiting to use both this pen and this ink, but initially I was going to put Shin-kai into my Model 66 but then I realized that the color this pen was a close match to the ink. I’m looking forward to getting to know both this ink and pen, as well as how they work together.

Thoughts After Cleaning the Pen

This was my first time using this pen, and my first time with this ink. The ink impressed me more than I had hoped, and I will enjoy using it again, maybe in an italic nib the next time. The pen is smaller than I normally use, and I feared that would pose a problem, but I found that it was no problem at all. In fact, I quite enjoyed occasionally using a smaller pen. I’m rather happy with my purchases.
