Dark Striped Purple

Wherein my Anthracite Pelikan M805 (0.5mm CI) is paired with Lamy Dark Lilac.

On my Anthracite Pelikan M805 (0.5mm CI) joined its comrades when it was filled with Lamy Dark Lilac. The pen was in use for 4 months and was emptied and cleaned on , saying good-bye to its fellows.

Thoughts Before Filling

This was my first M800 sized Pelikan, and I enjoyed it, but I didn’t enjoy the medium nib on it. Today the pen returned from the Nib Grinder with a 0.5mm italic nib so it had to get inked up. Ever since I got Lamy’s Dark Lilac I’ve wanted to try it with an italic nib and I’ve wanted to try it in this pen. There’s something about the dark grey with the purple ink that makes me smile.

Thoughts After Cleaning the Pen

The ink was a bit too wet for the nib, and the nib is crisper than I am used to, so I struggled to really enjoy this combination as much as I would like to. I love the ink, and I love the pen, and I enjoy the nib when I find the sweet spot. I may try this again sometime, but I rather suspect Scabiosa might be the next ink for this pen.
