Blue Black Vanishing Act

Wherein my Blue Matte Pilot Vanishing Point (0.5mm CI) is paired with Pilot Blue Black.

On my Blue Matte Pilot Vanishing Point (0.5mm CI) joined its comrades when it was filled with Pilot Blue Black. The pen was in use for one day and was emptied and cleaned on , saying good-bye to its fellows.

Thoughts Before Filling

For my birthday my wife got me my first Pilot Vanishing Point, the Blue Matte, and she had had John Mottishaw grind the nib to a 0.5mm cursive italic for me. The pen arrived today and I was eager to ink it up. We are in the process of selling our home and buying a new one, and I might just sign a legal document or two, so I wanted a permanent ink to use. I’ve been enjoying blue black inks lately and remembered I have a sample of Pilot Blue Black, so that is what I’m using. I have high hopes for this.

Thoughts After Cleaning the Pen

It turns out that the ink is far too wet for the pen. The pen wrote like a standard medium nib and had no italic qualities at all. Hopefully it is just the ink and not the pen. So I’m cleaning this out now and trying something new to see.
