An Orange Heritage

Wherein my Orange Pilot Custom Heritage (Fine) is paired with Pilot Iroshizuku Fuyu-gaki.

On my Orange Pilot Custom Heritage (Fine) joined its comrades when it was filled with Pilot Iroshizuku Fuyu-gaki. The pen was in use for about 11 months and was emptied and cleaned on , saying good-bye to its fellows.

Thoughts Before Filling

I saw a classified ad selling some Iroshizuku ink and this was one of the bottles. I recalled that I have a sample of it so I decided to try it out. I haven’t used my Custom Heritage 92 in some time so I thought it I would put it back into rotation.

Thoughts After Cleaning the Pen

I have a strange relationship with orange inks, and with Pilot’s pens. I like both, and when I use them I enjoy them to such an extent that I wonder why I don’t use them often. Oddly enough, there’s an automatic mental response to bypass any of my Pilot pens in favor of another, and to bypass orange inks in favor of any another. It makes little sense because each and every time I used this pen I was delighted by how much I enjoyed the pen and how much I enjoyed the ink. And yet it took me nearly a year to write the pen dry. It may be a while before I see this pen back in my rotation, but I’m sure I’ll be delighted to use it when it is, and perplexed as to why I took so long to fill it up again.
