A Wild Century

On my Bourgogne Platinum #3776 Century (Extra Fine) joined its comrades when it was filled with Diamine Wild Strawberry. I refilled it 2 times; the last refill was on . The pen was in use for one year and was emptied and cleaned on , saying good-bye to its fellows.

Thoughts Before Filling

I have decided that this year I shall keep a journal for each of my daughters, in which I will write down their days as I saw and remembered them. My eldest loves the color red and the journal I decided to use for her doesn’t have the most friendly of papers. Thus, I chose to use my most fine pointed pen and matched it with a red ink.

Thoughts After Cleaning the Pen

I used this pen every day for a full year to keep a diary for my eldest. It didn’t take long for me to enjoy writing with this pen. There’s just enough spring in the nib that added a sense of dance to my writing. It never bothered me that this pen was a monoline the entire time I used it, because it was such a pleasure to write with. The ink was a great match, though I admit to being a bit tired of red after the year’s close, so the pen is cleaned and going back into storage for a spell.
